CoQ-10

CoQ10, or Coenzyme Q10, is a nutrient that our bodies make naturally. CoQ-10 has gotten a lot of attention as of late as it has been recently shown to benefit us in regards to heart disease, atherosclerosis and hypertension which is affecting our society at an alarming rate. CoQ-10 is also effective in treating diabetes and Parkinson’s disease while it lowers cholesterol, and can even prevent migraine headaches. With the many properties it has such as antioxidant and anti-aging properties, it is no wonder that many people are choosing to supplement their health with CoQ-10.

CoQ-10 occurs in the mitochondria in every cell of our body. It works in metabolizing energy from food which helps us feel better and have more energy that we need to get through our daily lives. While the main research regarding coq10 deals with the heart, it can also have many other positive benefits on our body.

CoQ-10 has been found to treat and prevent migraines, increase our overall energy, reduce inflammation, reduce the damage caused by Parkinson’s Disease, and can help people who are waiting for heart transplants. There have been no side effects shown even with medium to high dosages, although it is best given in low doses. Although the body does manufacture its own CoQ-10 it is wise that if you are at risk for heart disease or other illnesses mentioned that you take a daily supplement to make sure you are getting enough CoQ-10.
